We still
seem to be in chaos all over the world. After the Twin Towers Episode
our troops were sent to Afghanistan, Iraq and now Liberia. These
are some of the hottest spots today when it comes to terrorism and civil
unrest. The term “FREEDOM” has changed forever when used in conjunction
with the United States of America. You may ask yourself what this has to
do with Lansing Township’s West Side Water System? The Environmental
Protection Agency (USEPA) has mandated that all public water systems have
in place a Vulnerability Assessment Study {VA’s). Based on population
served, Lansing Township’s Water system must have a completed study by
June 2004. Currently, management is well underway to meet the criteria
specified by the Federal Government.
Fire Hydrant
Fee Increase
West Side
Water monthly readiness to serve charges will increase $1.24 per billing
period beginning with the February 2006 water bill. This increase was necessary
to offset the decrease in revenue from fire hydrant rental fees that
Lansing Township paid to West Side Water annually from the General Fund.
Annual
charges for Private Fire hydrant and Fire suppression systems will
increase From $150.00 to $200.00 for 2006 $250.00 for 2007 and $300.00
for 2008.
